The Motherlode Crowdfunder
A creative, embodied exploration of motherlines, memory, and what can’t be named.
We’re Jamie Colston and Moi Tu. Together we’re creating The Motherlode: a living artwork and community offering that weaves conversation, illustration, poetry, and ritual into something bigger than either of us.
The Motherlode is 100 conversations with people about their motherlines. We will use these conversations to create art, poetry and, ultimately, a book.

Why this matters
Every one of us carries stories in our bones. Stories passed down through mothers, grandmothers, and generations before us. Some are told aloud. Some are hidden. Some live in the body as sensations, grief, or joy.
The Motherlode is our attempt to give voice and shape to those untold stories. To sit with what cannot be easily explained. To create a space where connection, healing, and beauty can surface.

Why now?
We’re in the middle of recording and creating. The conversations are alive, the drawings are forming, and the field is opening. To carry this through to completion we need your help to raise £15,000 by January 2026 to fund six months of creative work by Jamie and Moi.
