School Council, Youth Voice and Youth Empowerment

Many thanks for the excellent work you have undertaken for the school. From what I have heard and indeed experienced, it has been of high quality, carried out in a principled manner with a considerable integrity, and has been very much appreciated.
— Chris James, Governor, Ralph Allen School

Whether your school council or youth voice system needs an overhaul or just a bit of support, I bring a range of facilitation methods which create a model of listening, respect, ideas, support and empowered action.

The main question two questions I often hold in this work are:

How much are you willing to let them lead?

What capacity does everyone have to turn ideas into action?

Youth Summits: Climate Change, Species Loss and Global Issues

What I like about Green Vision is that no one is telling you what to do, forcing you to think about issues in a particular way, there is just a whole group of inspiring people helping you and empowering you to take whatever affirmative action means something to you!
— Rachael Hayman, Green Vision participant and Co-director

How are we preparing young people for an unpredictable and uncertain future? The challenges we our generation will face include global food shortages, global impact of climate change, economic and energy crises as well as massive social injustice and inequality.

I design workshops, events and host local, national and international speakers to engage young people with the global issues which can be translated into local action. The guiding ethos of this work is information delivered by inspirational people followed up with meaningful conversations and powerful personal and community led action.

Coaching and Mentoring

Jamie’s professional shines through as a Personal Assistant for our son with Autism in many ways. He communicates very clearly and is a real ally who is interested, non-judgemental, respectful, empowering and empathetic. He is caring, proactive and passionate about getting things right.

Autism can be very different for different individuals but he strives to understand the individual and what’s important to them, listening attentively whilst building a rapport to create a trusting relationship. His also has an holistic approach, is extremely person-centred whilst making plans for the future.
— Fenella Bradshaw, Parent

I work with young people in many different circumstances to get the most out of school and life outside it. I help young people discover what is important to them. I can take them through a journey which can include personal narrative, self exploration, goal setting, reflective practise and meditation, exploring transitions, and visioning amongst other things. If listening is all that is needed then I give space for whatever needs to emerge.

I only work with young people if they choose to be a participant after an initial meeting between us. I take the needs of the client (school, parent or organisation) and the needs of the young person and work towards incremental improvements alongside larger transformations.
